Macular degeneration is a medical condition that results in a loss of central vision because of damage to the macula at the back of the eye. ?Macular degeneration affects the ability to read, recognize faces and handle other simple day-to-day tasks, though some peripheral vision usually remains. ?Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in Americans above the age of 60.

The National Keratoconus Foundation?is dedicated to advance the awareness and treatment of keratoconus through education and information, research, and support.
Keratoconus is a degenerative eye disorder that causes structural change within the cornea, causing it to thin and change to a more conical shape than its normal gradual curve, greatly affecting sight. ?Keratoconus occurs in about one out of every 2,000 people in the general population and is usually first diagnosed in young people in puberty through their late teens.
