Jeffrey J. Yu is Research Fellow at the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute in UC Irvine, Department of Ophthalmology. His research training involves working with Dr. Cristina Kenney studying the role of mitochondria in the development and progression of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Jeffrey graduated from Stanford University in 2013 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He continued as a Research Associate at Stanford University, working on many exciting research projects. In 2016, Jeffrey then moved on to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a Research Associate, working on projects involving Alzheimer’s Disease. He is currently in graduate school at the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine.
Jeffrey has received many honors and awards over the years such as; UCI/School of Medicine Dean’s Research Grant, Grace B. Bell Prize in Biochemistry, ICPI Pathology Honors Society, Arnold and Mabel Beckman Fellow in Retinal Degeneration Research and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
